Kristina and Max, both of Indiana, had a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Casa Maria hotel at Jacksonville Beach on Sunday October 24th.
I was very impressed with the elegant style of this big family affair. The color scheme was bright jewel tones which accented the brides eyes beautifully. Most of the guest were from out of town, which always gives a reception a rich, warm feeling since most guest are extremely close to the bride and groom.
We also had an amazing full moon as a back drop to a fun night of dancing under the stars. Receptions at the Casa Maria always have a unique feel since they are mostly outdoors with a beautiful view of the ocean and when the sun goes down you have the smell and sound of the ocean in the background.
Thanks Kristina and Max for letting me and Jen be a part of your very special day!

Congratulations to Jessica and Scott! I had the pleasure of photographing this awesome couple last month in the gardens of The Cummer Art Museum in Riverside.
We had a great time in this beautiful location and really was able to capture this shy couple’s love for each other. Scott was a great sport doing this shoot because it so clearly made Jessica happy. Already a man that knows a happy bride equals a happy life! Smart man. 🙂
The couple will marry in October and eyekandy will be there to capture all the special moments of their wedding!

Today The Wedding Party works together to make Rebecca and Dennis’s wedding perfect! Eyekandy will capture the day in photographs, InMotion will be videoing, Deland Entertainment will be provinding the entertainment, Celebrated Occassions helped invite all the guest and last but certainly most important, First Coast Weddings and Events is coordinating the whole affair!
The Wedding Party, owned by Paul DeLand, located at 8640 Philips Highway #8 in Jacksonville, Florida is a unique concept that houses some of Jacksonville’s most talented wedding professionals under one roof. The idea of The Wedding Party is to make the process of planning your wedding as simple and stress-free as possible by allowing you to meet several vendors in the same day at the same location. You are able to pick and choose which vendors you meet and which you hire for your event. All the vendors are independently owned and operated, meaning you do not have to hire them all to use one.
Rebecca and Dennis are one of our first couples to take advantage of this exciting new concept. They met with several of the vendors in the Fall of 2009 and obtained the services of 6 of The Wedding Party vendors!
Eyekandy Photography is proud to be the choosen photographer for their wedding today at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach, followed by the reception at the Casa Marina.
I also had the priviledge of photographing Rebecca and Dennis’s engagement pictures earlier in the month. As you can see this is a beautiful couple that is very photogenic and very much in love! They are going to make my job today a breeze.
Check back in the next couple of days to see pictures from todays sure-to-be eyestopping, jawdropping wedding of the year!

I had the privilege of meeting and photographing the winners of Jacksonville Magazine’s 2010 Great Wedding Give-Away couple, Sareh Shoraka and Zach Dyer.  They are a very charming couple that appears to be very much in love  and grateful to have won such a huge prize, a complimentary wedding!

We weathered 30 degree temperatures in Florida, (yes, I know its ridiculous) to get their engagement pictures on North Florida’s sunny Atlantic beachside.  It was sunny, but certainly not warm.  They were great sports and were willing to go out in a dress and sandals (Sareh of course, not Zach) to get these beautiful photos I have posted below.

I am so excited to have the honor of photographing this amazing couples wedding on June 14 at The Serenata Beach Club.  Eyekandy Photography is one of the many local vendors donating wedding services to make this couples dream wedding become a reality.  Other participating  vendors include D’Land Entertainment, LOVE Bridal Boutique, The Reef, Favors by Design,  Serenata Beach Club and many, many more.  It will be an amazing event!

If anyone really knows me, they would know,  fashion photography was my first love.  I spent numerous critiques in college taking hit after hit  for my “shallow” fashion photography.  I always defended myself by saying, “fashion IS art”.  Open any magazine and 3/4 of the pages are filled with advertisements for clothes, shoes, make-up, perfume, etc.  You never see a standard picture of a pair of shoes, you see a highly stylized model with exotic hair and make-up, crazy lighting schemes, wearing the pair of shoes being advertised.
Yesterday was the first of  many “shoot-outs” hosted by Jacksonville based make-up artist Faythe Mesic Hall.  She orchestrated 20 models, half male and half female, had a team of stylist and couture clothes donated and placed the models in various sections of the Riverside Garden Club.  She invited area photographers, and for a small fee, you moved from station to station photographing experienced models.
Here are a few of my favorite shots!
And 10 years later, I still defend myself…..”Fashion IS Art!”
